2. Types of Samovars

Samovars are made in different body shapes:
     urn,
     krater,
     barrel,
     cylindrical,
     spherical.

Size just like the shape varies largely, from the biggest ones of "40-pail" or 400 litres ones (100 US gallons) to 1 litre (1 US quart), and could be made from:
     plain iron with no embelishments
     polished brass with or without embelishments
     silver and gilt. 

The metal samovars are known to have been produced first in Tula, in the 18th century.
